Labor and Employment Law
The Labor and Employment Law Division administers and enforces the laws of the Commonwealth that govern employee pay, the employment of children, the right to work, and certain other statutes that relate to the workplace.
Payment of Wage Unit
The Divisionโs Payment of Wage Unit investigates complaints concerning unpaid wages, certain anti-retaliation statutes, and various other labor laws in the Commonwealth.

Youth Employment Law
The Divisionโs Child Labor Unit administers and enforces the Commonwealthโs laws and regulations related to the employment of youth, including the issuance of Employment Certificates

Prevailing Wage Unit
The Divisionโs Prevailing Wage Unit administers and enforces the Commonwealthโs laws and regulations concerning the rates of pay of employees working under certain contracts and subcontracts for public works in Virginia.
